Data processed and purposes
Death notices: name, dates and places, text, photo and ceremonies of the deceased, provided by the family. Purpose: informing loved ones and allowing them to pay their respects. Legal basis: the funeral contract and the family’s consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). The GDPR does not apply to data about deceased persons, but we handle it with the same care.
Condolences: your name, your message and, if you provide it, your e-mail address (never published). Purpose: passing on and publishing your message, and contacting you if needed. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Technical data: connection logs (IP address, date, page) kept for a few days by our host for security, and a language cookie (see the Cookies page). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe and usable site.
Retention
The notice and its condolences are kept while the notice is online and deleted when the family asks for removal. Refused messages are deleted no later than 30 days after review.
Recipients
Your data is never sold or transferred. It is available to the relevant A&G Funeral team, the family of the deceased (for condolences) and our hosting processors, bound by contract (Art. 28 GDPR). Where data is hosted outside the European Union, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to processing, withdraw consent and request portability. Write to conseillers@ag-funeral.be; we reply within one month.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS; notices can only be published from our internal management tool, protected by our business account sign-in.
